About us, Bates & Riordan, LLP

About Us: The firm
The law firm of Bates & Riordan, LLP was founded in 1999.  Attorneys Deborah Bates Riordan and Theodore Riordan are the firm partners.  The firm is certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office as a Woman Business Enterprise.

The firm focuses on criminal appeals and personal injury law.  We offer free, no-obligation consultations on all matters.

About Us: Personal Injury Law
Our personal injury practice offers a team approach that is special to our firm.  Attorney Deborah Bates Riordan is both an attorney and a licensed Registered Nurse.  Her medical background is vital with our more medically complex cases.  Attorney Theodore Riordan began his legal career at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.  That experience gives him special insight into how an insurance company handles claims.

About Us:  Criminal Appeal Law
On the criminal appeal side of the firm, we’ve appealed nearly every kind of case.  We have an established presence in the Supreme Judicial Court for our first degree murder appeals.  We are also well known in the Massachusetts Appeals Court. Check our numerous appeals to the Massachusetts appellate courts by going to the official appellate court docket.

About Us:  Experience
As attorneys with over thirty years experience, we’ve handled criminal and civil cases in Superior and District courts throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  We’ve had clients everywhere from the Berkshires to Boston, and Cape Ann to Cape Cod. If you can’t come to us, we can come to you.  Especially in the era of Zoom calling, why not hire the lawyer who’s the best fit for you, no matter where the lawyer’s office is located?

About Us:  Location
Since September 1, 2001, we’ve been based in the Wollaston neighborhood of Quincy. We’re conveniently located three blocks from the Wollaston Red Line T stop (Braintree branch).  We’re also on numerous MBTA bus lines.

About Us:  Cost
All our personal injury cases are on a contingent-fee basis.  That means when you become a client of Bates & Riordan, LLP, we agree to work hard on your case at no initial cost to you. We’ll get paid when when you get paid.
Our criminal appeals are typically handled on a flat-fee basis.  Because every appeal is different and involves a different amount of work, we’ll tailor the cost to your particular case.  It costs you nothing to get a no-obligation consultation and price quote.
